Two Hours for a Five-Minute Answer: The Vetline Founder Story

Vetline began with an ordinary, frustrating afternoon: two hours of travelling and waiting for a follow-up that took five minutes. This is the story of the question that grew out of it.

Every company starts with a problem that felt personal before it felt like a business. For Vetline, the problem arrived on an ordinary afternoon.

After one of his pets had a procedure, our founder, Haziq Khatri, set out for a follow-up consultation. The consultation itself took less than five minutes. Reaching it, between the travel and the waiting, took close to two hours. Nothing about that day was unusual, which was exactly the point. This is how veterinary care often works, and most people simply accept it.

That afternoon left a simple question behind: can we make access to veterinary care easier? That question became Vetline.

The problem was never the vets

Pakistan is not short of good veterinarians. What it lacks is an easy route to them. A quick question at ten at night, a follow-up that needs five minutes of a professional's time, a worry that could be settled with a look and a short conversation: these do not need a building, a car journey, and an afternoon. They need access.

So that is what we set out to build. Vetline is a digital platform that connects pet owners with veterinarians through video consultations, home visits, and digital health records that stay in one place. The idea is to shorten the distance between a worried owner and a qualified answer, and to do it without asking them to spend two hours on a five-minute problem.

The goal was never to replace the clinic. It was to remove the two hours around the five minutes that did not need them.

Where we are now

We would rather tell you the truth than a headline. Since launching the app, we have onboarded 18 veterinarians and facilitated 48 consultations in our early journey. Those are small numbers, and we are glad to share them as they are. They represent real owners, real animals, and real veterinarians who chose to be part of something still being built.

We are still learning and improving, and we are doing it in the open, working directly with the veterinarians on the platform and the owners who use it. Trust is not announced, it is earned slowly, and that is the only way we know how to earn it.

Why this matters beyond one afternoon

Easier access tends to produce earlier questions, and earlier questions are the whole point. An owner who can ask about a limp or a change in appetite for the price of a short call tends to ask months before the thing becomes an emergency. Multiply that across a city, and a lot of avoidable suffering quietly disappears.

This is still the beginning. Our goal is to make quality veterinary care more accessible, and to help build a more connected future for animal healthcare in Pakistan. It started with two hours spent on a five-minute answer, and a refusal to believe that was the best anyone could do.

Common questions

Who founded Vetline, and why?

Vetline was founded by Haziq Khatri. The idea came from a personal experience after one of his own pets had a procedure: the follow-up consultation took about five minutes, but reaching it took close to two hours of travelling and waiting. That gap between a quick answer and the effort of getting to it became the problem the company set out to solve.

What does Vetline actually offer?

A digital platform that connects pet owners with licensed veterinarians through video consultations, home visits, and digital health records kept in one place. The aim is to shorten the distance between a worried owner and a qualified answer, especially for the everyday questions that do not need a clinic.

How far along is Vetline?

Early, and honest about it. In its first stretch the platform has onboarded 18 veterinarians and facilitated 48 consultations. The team describes itself as still learning and improving, working directly with veterinarians and pet owners rather than claiming to have already transformed anything.

Where can I read the original founder story?

Haziq's story was featured by TPFN. The full interview is published on their site at tpfn.world/stories/haziq-khatri-vetline-founder. The figures mentioned here, including the number of veterinarians and consultations, match that feature.

Does an online platform replace a real veterinarian?

No. Vetline connects owners to licensed veterinarians and supports their care; it does not replace an in-person examination, and emergencies still need a clinic. The goal is earlier access to a qualified answer, not a substitute for being in the room when that is what an animal needs.
