Home visit
The vet comes to you.
Requests are made in the app. We call you back to confirm.
How a home visit works
Send the request
Your address, which pet, what you have noticed, and the times that suit you. It takes about a minute in the app.
We call you back to confirm
A real call, where the details are checked, the slot is agreed and the fee is confirmed. Nothing is booked on a guess, and no vet travels to a wrong address.
The vet comes to you
No carrier, no car, no waiting room. Your pet is examined somewhere they already feel safe.
A calmer animal is easier to examine
Stress raises heart rate, breathing rate and temperature. A frightened cat in a waiting room can produce readings that describe the journey rather than the illness. Examined at home, an animal is closer to its normal state, so what the vet sees is closer to the truth. Every veterinarian is checked against the Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council register before being listed.
When a home visit is the right choice
Good fit for a home visit
- Cats who find the carrier and the car genuinely distressing
- Older or arthritic animals, for whom the journey is the painful part
- Routine vaccinations, health checks and post-treatment follow-ups
- Multi-pet households, where one visit covers several animals
- Nervous or reactive dogs who behave differently in a waiting room
- Anyone without transport, or facing the drive at the wrong hour
What a home visit cannot do
- X-rays and ultrasound: the imaging equipment stays at the clinic
- Surgery, or anything needing general anaesthesia
- Hospitalisation, oxygen support or fluids given over time
- Immediate lab results, since samples have to be taken away
A veterinarian can bring their hands, instruments and judgement. They cannot bring the building.
Not an emergency service: go to a clinic
Arranging a home visit takes time an emergency does not have. Go straight to a clinic or emergency service for:
- Difficulty breathing, choking, or open-mouth breathing in a cat
- Suspected poisoning, or something swallowed that should not have been
- A road accident, a fall, or any significant trauma
- A male cat straining repeatedly to urinate with little result
- Seizures, collapse, heavy bleeding, or a distended abdomen
Before the vet arrives
- Pick a quiet room with good light and a surface to examine on
- Shut other pets away, and have someone available to help hold
- Confine cats to one room before the vet arrives
- Have vaccination records and past prescriptions to hand
- Write down what you noticed and when it started
If your pet's records are already in the app, the vet is not starting from a blank page.

Home visit sits alongside video and in-clinic care.
Common questions
Do vets do home visits in Karachi?
Yes. You request a home visit in the Vetline app with your address, which pet, what you have noticed and the times that suit you. We call you back to confirm the details and the slot, and a PVMC-registered veterinarian comes to you.
How much does a vet home visit cost in Karachi?
It varies by veterinarian and by what the visit involves, so we do not publish a single figure that would not be true of every vet. The fee is confirmed with you on the call before anything is booked, rather than discovered afterwards.
What can a vet actually do at my house?
A full physical examination, vaccinations, many routine treatments, follow-up checks, and taking samples for a laboratory. What cannot travel is the equipment: imaging, surgery and hospitalisation still require a clinic.
Is a home visit suitable for an emergency?
No. A home visit is scheduled care and arranging one takes time an emergency does not have. For difficulty breathing, suspected poisoning, trauma, seizures, heavy bleeding or a cat straining to urinate, go straight to a clinic or emergency service.
Is a home visit better for cats?
Often, yes. Many cats find the carrier and the journey genuinely distressing and arrive already stressed, which makes them harder to examine and their readings less reliable. At home they stay in their own territory.
Which areas of Karachi do you cover?
Coverage depends on which veterinarians are available near you. Send a request with your address and we will tell you on the confirmation call whether we can reach you and when.
Book a visit without the journey.
Not sure whether you need a home visit, a clinic or a video call? Start with a conversation and a veterinarian will tell you.
